It took three trips, $15 for parking, a quick study of the tide chart, and a bit of courage to put this little video together. On the third trip I finally crossed over the cave and made it to the other side of Abalone Cove where I was greeted by the sea creatures inhabiting the tide pools.

Growing up in the concrete jungle of New York City, the only glimpses of nature I got were visits through Central Park and the New York aquarium. To be able to pluck a starfish out of the water was a fantastic experience that made me feel like a kid again.

I had a lot more footage of the area itself but I felt like this was a better way to show it.

Can’t wait to go here.
