Jane McGonigal’s Game Developers’ Conference talk on Making Your Own Reality
Game developer Jane McGonigal is doing some of the craziest and most awesome stuff on the internet. She’s just inspiring. Her approach to interactive storytelling and gaming is the future of entertainment.
New Media peeps take note: You’re doing it all wrong. Your New Media is really just a cuter version of Old Media. You need to give your audience something more than just webisodes, and it’s just not enough to get yourself in the iTunes Podcast directory or score yourself a sweet distribution deal. You need to do more of this and less of this. You need to melt brains.
Here are the slides for the keynote Jane gave at the Game Developers Conference: Learning To Make Your Own Reality.
Study this chick and everything she does. She’s smarter than you.
If anyone finds video of this keynote, lemme know: jim (at) slippyjenkins (dot) com
S-She seems really cool and smart, but is that really her web-site? Maybe someone can design the page for her.
Haha. Yeah, I thought that was funny, too. She must come from the Drudge School of Design. The content is all that counts. The good thing is that all her projects are really, really well designed for what they’re trying to accomplish.
